The therapeutic potential of chicken soup is not a legend, science confirms!
Recent studies have shown that hot chicken soup may be your best remedy for colds in the winter. The study found that chicken soup has the ability to alleviate the symptoms of colds that affect the respiratory system and appear clear to a person, because of this anti-inflammatory properties of this soup.

The researchers responsible for the study at the University of Nebraska in the United States of America put three different recipes for chicken soup under study. The recipes of the chicken soup that were studied contained the following ingredients: pieces of chicken, onion, sweet potato, carrot, white turnip, celery, parsley, salt and spices.

The researchers monitored the effect of chicken soup on the speed of movement of a certain type of white blood cell, the body usually produces to fight infection, to test whether the movement of this type of cell increases rapidly or decreases with eating chicken soup, especially since researchers believe that the speed of movement of these cells It is the factor responsible for the appearance of cold symptoms.

Indeed, the researchers found that the chicken soup slows the pace and speed of movement of the said type of white blood cells, which reduces the symptoms of the disease appearing on the upper half of the respiratory system.

The researchers also suggested that there is another important factor, as eating chicken soup has the effect of placebo, or a counterfeit pill, because just eating it may heal the person with a cold quickly!

Not to mention that the body needs to replace the fluids it loses during illness, which the chicken soup definitely provides to the patient.

An old study over 40 years old showed that the smell of soup and spices used in its preparation helps greatly to relieve sore throats and airways and soften mucus, which usually accompanies the common cold or cold.

The recipe for chicken soup in the face of colds and colds has been mentioned historically in many texts for ancient philosophers and healers, and to this day it was believed that its benefits are nothing more than rumors, which recent studies have begun to deny, to confirm already the health benefits of chicken soup.

Scientists are still confused about the reason for the positive effect of chicken soup in the treatment of colds, but they suggest that it is an ideal mix between a group of ingredients still under study!

Lack of sleep may make you depressed and anxious
The results of a new study published in the scientific journal (Lancet Psychiatry) revealed that people who do not have enough sleep hours are more likely to develop paranoia, depression and anxiety.

Earlier studies had believed that the occurrence of anxiety and depression makes sleep a major obstacle, but this study believes the opposite, that is, the lack of sleep is what raises the risk of developing both depression and anxiety.

To confirm this theory, the researchers targeted 3,890 people and performed some tests. After analyzing the information, the researchers found that those who did not sleep enough hours during the night were causing harm to their mental health.

One of the researchers based on the study commented that I think since ancient times that lack of sleep is responsible for depression and anxiety, but this study benefits the opposite, as sleeping for appropriate hours during the night would positively affect a person's mental health.

The researchers emphasized that the participants who had enough hours of sleep decreased their risk of anxiety and depression by almost 50%, and their nightmares decreased by the same percentage.

The researchers reported that the lack of sleep hours affects the brain in two ways, how to think and how to think about things.

In a related context, a person must have adequate sleep hours according to the age group, as follows:

Adolescents (14-17 years): They should sleep from 8-10 hours.
Young adults (18-25 years): 7-9 hours.
Adults (26-64): 7-9 hours.
Elderly (over 65): 7-8 hours.

A new scientific study published in the journal (Neurology) found that eating foods and drinks containing flavonol reduces the risk of dementia.

In order to reach this result, the researchers in the study searched for the aforementioned antioxidant, known for its many health benefits, and noted that people who consumed foods rich in this substance had a lower risk of developing dementia during subsequent years.

One of the researchers based on the study indicated that the results are promising, but more research is needed in this field.

This study targeted about 921 participants and their average age was 81 years, all without dementia or Alzheimer's, and they were tracked annually and tracked their diet, and according to this information the participants were divided into five groups based on the levels of flavonol taken by them.

Almost six years after the start of the study, 220 participants developed dementia, and researchers found that eating a good amount of flavonol reduced the risk of dementia by 48%.

As for foods that contain flavonol, they include:

Pears

Meditation helps relieve pain rather than analgesics

Meditation helps relieve pain rather than analgesics

A recent scientific study published in the Journal of Neuroscience found that meditation may be an alternative way to eliminate pain and get rid of it instead of taking painkillers.

According to the study, about 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain, and this pain costs the state approximately 600 billion USD annually.

But the researchers wanted to find a way other than medication to relieve pain, and they checked the ability of meditation to produce opioids and thus reduce pain.

In order to conduct the study, the researchers targeted 78 healthy people who were injected with Naloxone, which works to stop the opioids that reduce pain or placebo, and they were divided into four treatment groups over a period of four days as follows:

The first group meditated and took Naloxone
The second group took Naloxone only
The third group: she meditated and took the placebo
Fourth group: You did not meditate and took the placebo.
Part of the participants' skin was exposed to a very high temperature to feel pain, and they found that the participants in the first group, that is, those who meditated and took Naloxone, reduced their pain by about 24%.

The researchers emphasized that these results are interesting, as they reflect the ability of meditation to relieve pain despite not taking pain relievers, as it is able to do so through the use of paths and methods different from those used in pain relievers, meaning that meditation does not work through the opioid system in the body.

The researchers noted that the pain decreased in the third group that meditated and took the placebo by up to 21%, while the participants who did not meditate increased the feeling of pain.

So, after these exciting results, the team of researchers now hopes to work on another experiment in order to verify the impact of meditation on relieving chronic pain.

Alternative medicine

The concept of alternative medicine is used to express any of the medical practices that do not fall under the concept of traditional medicine, as it is used to express the practices of medicine that have not appeared continuously to be effective in this field, and sometimes it is used to describe popular and traditional medical practices for different societies, which It is not based on any scientific basis and is not related to proven evidence. Critics see that the concept of alternative medicine is one of the elusive concepts that are used in order to provide a good impression of the used medical method, and Richard Dawkins, a British biological and ideological scientist has presented in one of his writings that there is no treatment or alternative medicine, but that there is an effective treatment and drug and an ineffective drug and treatment .
