Foods that contain flavonol may protect you from dementia

The risk of developing dementia increases with age, but there are many studies looking for ways to help reduce it.

A new scientific study published in the journal (Neurology) found that eating foods and drinks containing flavonol reduces the risk of dementia.

In order to reach this result, the researchers in the study searched for the aforementioned antioxidant, known for its many health benefits, and noted that people who consumed foods rich in this substance had a lower risk of developing dementia during subsequent years.

One of the researchers based on the study indicated that the results are promising, but more research is needed in this field.

This study targeted about 921 participants and their average age was 81 years, all without dementia or Alzheimer's, and they were tracked annually and tracked their diet, and according to this information the participants were divided into five groups based on the levels of flavonol taken by them.

Almost six years after the start of the study, 220 participants developed dementia, and researchers found that eating a good amount of flavonol reduced the risk of dementia by 48%.
